Under the Choko Tree By Nevin Sweeney

Choko Tree Friends - Manu

Manu lives on a 700m2 residential block on the eastern edge of the Blue Mountains, and as a result the soil on her property tends to be fairly eroded and impoverished. It has required extensive applications of compost in order to become productive. She has been on the site for seven years but only really developed the garden over the last four years. While she does grow some annual vegetables, her focus has been on perennial crops and developing up a food forest on her property. She also has an extensive setup for raising seedlings which are used for the ‘Farm it Forward’ Initiative.
